Star Gators Astronomy Contest
Check backpacks for the Star Gators Activity Sheet that H&S sent home today! Do the activities with your children and return the bottom half to their teacher by June 5th, to enter for a chance to win an astronomy book! There will be one draw per grade.

Astronomy Club
The Athena Community Astronomy Club usually have their telescopes set up along the Summerside Baywalk by the Shipyard Market, on clear Wednesday evenings for public viewings. The astronomers love to teach everyone about the stars, so follow their Facebook page for announcements and stop by sometime!

Kids Links
We’ve added a new Kids Links page on here! We’re launching this page to help kids and parents find educational links. The links the grade 4-6’s were referred to on the activity sheets can be found there, along with others. Resources for parents can be found at the bottom. We will continue to gather more links so our kids can easily find the games and websites they use at school. Please contact to recommend educational websites that would be good to add.

*Printable PDFs of the astronomy activity sheets can be found on our Downloads page.

Home and School Spring News

Posted on Updated on

Greenfield’s next H&S meeting will be held on Monday, May 5th at 6:30 pm in the school library. Lots to discuss, come hear updates on the Literacy Fair next month, and more on how we plan to spend the $900 parent engagement grant from PEIHSF. If you are looking for a change from Norcard next year, come discuss new ideas!

Plenty of exciting activities will be happening this spring! Greenfield Home and School was awarded $900 for Parental Engagement Activities. Watch for postings on these throughout May and June for your family to enjoy!

To start our engagement program we have invited Megan Likely from The Fit Stop to show us ZumbaKids on Saturday, May 3rd, 11-12. This is a free event for the children to attend with their parents. We are looking to fill the gym, so grab all your friends, parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles to dance in a fun, safe, non-bullying environment.

Maurice Bernard, a local well known artist, will be attending our school to share his love of art with our children. He will be spending 40 minutes with each class during the month of May, working with the teachers on the Visual Arts curriculum. Watch for your children’s creative artwork to come home, they may try to teach you a few of his tricks on drawing!

Mark you calendars for Greenfield’s Literacy Fair – Saturday, May 24th, and this years Greenfield Gator Family Run/Walk for Literacy – Saturday, June 7th, 10:00 am at Greenfield School. We’ll post more info on these events and more, in the coming weeks!

Keep in mind we will be selling Greenfield School Calendars again next year!! Watch for updates. The calendar went over so well this year, so we will be looking for corporate sponsors again. If you are interested in purchasing a month contact: Jana Weatherbie at
